The Mbox 2 Pro is super versatile! With this smart interface I can take Pro Tools basically anywhere and be able to record, edit, and even mix whenever inspiration strikes. The Mbox 2 Pro fits in my laptop bag!
My first experience using this product was a great success because I recorded a live show of a 3-piece jazz band at a local jazz bar near my studio, and everything worked like a clock. All I took with me was my laptop, two large-capsule condenser mics, a pair of mic stands, two XLR cables, and the MBox 2 Pro. That was all I needed. Setup and tear-down were no more than 15 minutes total. The simplicity and rugged build makes the Mbox 2 Pro the go-to solution for live stereo recordings, or on-the-go Pro Tools work such as editing.
The MBox 2 Pro is as solid and dependable as its bigger brothers, the 003 series and even Pro Tools HD. And the fact that I can take sessions I recorded with the Mbox 2 Pro and transfer them into my studio computer and edit and mix at the studio is so comfortable and practical. Once I transferred the session into my system at the studio, I was able to appreciate the sound quality the Mbox 2 Pro has to offer listening through my Genelec monitors. Super open sound, crisp highs, balanced mids, and solid punchy low end. The converters on this little box really sound pro-grade.
For anyone just starting off in the world of Recording, getting into the real-deal Pro Tools has never been easier and more affordable, plus with the bundled plug-ins you get all the necessary tools to get the sounds you are looking for. It’s just a matter of tweaking away.
