“Dangerous” Dan Toler, guitarist for the Allman Brothers Brand and Gregg Allman, passed away after a battle with ALS. He was 65 years old. Toler first came to prominence playing with Dickie Betts & Great Southern. He joined the Allman Brothers Band when the group reunited in 1979 and played on three of their albums: Enlightened Rogues, Reach for the Sky, and Brothers of the Road. He left the Allman Brothers in 1982 but rejoined with Gregg Allman for his solo records, I’m No Angel and Before Bullets Fly. Toler’s most recent recording was the self-titled 2009 debut from the Toler/Townsend Band with Johnny Townsend.
