Buffered Bypass

A bypass feature that uses a buffer circuit to condition the audio signal. Buffered bypass is typically found in guitar and bass stompboxes, where it is used to maintain the integrity of the signal and also allows for longer cable runs without sonic degradation. See also “true bypass.”
