Buffer Amp

A type of preamplifier found in some guitars with active electronics and in most non-true-bypass stompboxes, as well as in other electronic equipment. The buffer amp’s job is to match impedance to prevent the input of a device from loading the ouput of a device that is connected to it and trashing the tone or output.
