Behringer Announces New DeepMind 6 and DeepMind 12D

The rumor mill began to churn as soon as Behringer released the fantastic DeepMind 12 synthesizer: “Behringer is already planning to roll out another synth, and this one is going to be amazing.” Well, those rumors are reality.

Behringer made noise at Superbooth 2017 in Berlin, Germany, by rolling out their all-new DeepMind 12D and DeepMind 6 synthesizers. While the DeepMind 12D was expected, the smaller DeepMind 6 came as a bit of a surprise. The best news is that these new synths are now available at Sweetwater.

The DeepMind 6

As if one new synth wasn’t enough, Behringer also dropped a small but mighty version of their DeepMind 12. The all-new DeepMind 6 is a true analog 6-voice polyphonic synthesizer that shares most of the same bells and whistles of the larger DeepMind 12. Now the power of Behringer’s DeepMind synths is available for musicians who need to drive that sonic nail, but don’t need a sledgehammer to do it.

While it is a smaller synth, the DeepMind 6’s full-size keys keep it player-friendly. Basically, this little synth is a streamlined, 6-voice version of its 12-voice big brother. The DeepMind 6 is also easy on the wallet, foregoing extra features such as Wi-Fi to achieve a very down-to-earth price point.

Behringer’s DeepMind series gives synth players a budget-friendly version of a pro-level synthesizer — in some cases costing just a third of the price of other synths with compatible features.

The DeepMind 12D

Behringer hit a home run when they released the versatile DeepMind 12, but they knew it was just the beginning for their new synth. The DeepMind 12D takes all the features of their popular analog 12-voice polyphonic synth and packs them into a smaller, sleeker frame. The DeepMind 12D is keyboard-ready and is available with both wooden and rack ear ends. Basically, with the DeepMind 12D, Behringer has created an engine for anyone who wants to add DeepMind 12 power to their keyboard controller.

Don’t let “desktop” fool you — this is a serious synthesizer. The DeepMind 12D features four FX engines, two OSCs and LFOs per voice, three ADSR generators, an 8-channel modulation matrix, a 32-step control sequencer, and tablet remote control.

While the DeepMind 12D ditches the DeepMind 12’s keyboard, it adds the ability to polychain up a dizzying number of synths. Also, despite particularly nasty rumors, Behringer managed to reduce the size of the synth without losing Wi-Fi control features.

With DeepMind 12D, it’s easier to take your show on the road and still create the synth noises from all your favorite progressive rock, pop, and jazz fusion records from the 1970s, ’80s, ’90s, and beyond.

If you’re looking to kick the tires on Behringer’s all-new DeepMind synths, you can stop by the Sweetwater Music Store. You can also get the 411 from your personal Sales Engineer at (800) 222-4700. They’ll be glad to walk you through the features and benefits of these anticipated synthesizers. They can even get yours pre-ordered so that you can beat the rush.

With two fantastic new synthesizers, Behringer has turned rumor into reality. What will they do next? Only Behringer knows for sure. But if you listen, you are sure to hear the rumors.
