Antelope Audio has unveiled Pure2, a two-channel mastering converter. Built on the legacy of Antelope’s high-end Eclipse 384 converter, Pure2 supports resolutions up to 24-bit/192kHz on both analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversions. Pure2 focuses on five important aspects of conversion:
- An A/D converter with optimized overloads handling
- A D/A converter with dual DAC architecture for superior stereo separation and imaging
- A high-end headphone amplifier with a dedicated D/A
- A relay-based, stepped-attenuator analog volume control for supremely accurate monitoring, even at low levels
- A master clock with 4th generation of Antelope’s AFC jitter management
Pure2 offers eight word clock outputs, so it can serve as the master clock for an entire studio. It can also be linked to Antelope’s 10M Atomic Clock for even greater clocking stability. Connectivity includes S/PDIF, TOSLINK, AES, and USB, with analog inputs on XLR combi connectors and outputs on XLR.
Antelope Audio expects the Pure2 mastering converter to begin shipping toward the end of 2014.
