Its distinctive sonic character is owed to an unorthodox mix of digital oscillators and analog circuitry, earning a spot among the repertoires of 808 State, Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes, and more. Though it failed to get too far from the hive, it became an iconic synth all the same — a “sleeper synth,” some might say. Behringer saw the latent potential in this lovely musical insect and chose to give it new wings to take flight with their support. Enter the Wasp Deluxe.
