We’re pleased to welcome Aston Microphones to the Sweetwater family! Created using British engineering and unique processes, Aston mics are instantly recognizable. From the drawing board through fabrication to final assembly, Aston mics are handmade by a team of specialists and craftsmen in Britain.
The Aston mics were created in consultation with a panel of 33 renowned professional engineers, producers, and musicians. At each stage of development, various members of the consulting panel heard the mics in a double-blind test. For example, each capsule was selected by process of elimination from hundreds of designs in listening tests highlighting price category, and both male and female vocals and instruments.
The Aston Microphones lineup currently includes:
- Origin — a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with cardioid polar pattern, 1″ gold-evaporated capsule, and built-in pop filter.
- Spirit — a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with cardioid, omni, and figure-8 polar patterns, 1″ gold-evaporated capsule, and built-in pop filter.
- Rycote Custom Shockmount — custom shockmount for Aston Origin and Spirit microphones.
- Halo Reflection Filter — a reflection filter with a “shell” shape; textured, PET felt wave-formed surface, and easy-mount hardware.
