Roland’s proprietary Harmonic Restructure Modeling, in which the sound from a guitar string is broken down into its harmonic components, and the relative levels and envelopes of these harmonics are changed to create new sounds. In essense, this is a method of guitar synthesis that does not rely on converting the guitar note to MIDI data first, and as such, has almost imperceptible latency.
