Bitwig showed off Bitwig Studio 1.2 at the Winter NAMM show. This update introduces a number of very powerful new features:
Group Tracks: Consolidate the signal flow of multiple sources through a single Group Track. This feature introduces a new style of editing called “Meta Clips.” Meta Clips allow for easy editing of clips from multiple tracks in group track timelines. Group Tracks also offer a convenient way to set up tracks for multitimbral VST instruments.
Audition Browser: All devices in Bitwig Studio 1.2 feature an Audition button. By clicking Audition, your entire catalog of sound data becomes available. Browse, audition, swap, and insert anything from presets and samples to full clips of sounds during playback.
High DPI and Retina Display support: The GUI is optimized for high-resolution displays on both Mac and PC.
Updated Factory Content: Third-party sound designers Detunized, Mode Audio, Sample Magic, and Overclock Inc. have added over 500 fully functional presets, and optimized every preset in the Library.
Bitwig Studio 1.2 will be a free update for all Bitwig Studio 1.0 users. Bitwig Studio 1.2 Beta will be available in February to selected license holders.
