Another of the classic octal tubes used in guitar tube amps, the KT88 is one of the biggest of the “big bottle” tubes. It can take massive plate voltages, which has made it the tube of choice for amps over 100 watts, and pretty much the only tube choice for 200W amps. KT88s are generally known for their tight, clean sound.
