In our continuing efforts to always bring you great prices on the best brands we are now stocking the highly respected Brian Moore brand of guitars. After playing several of the models just prior to writing this issue of inSync you editor couldn’t be more enthused. These guitars play and sound as good or better than any guitar I’ve ever played, including guitars that cost a lot more money! Many of them come with piezo pickups for a great acoustic sound, and they have several models with 13 pin jacks you can use to connect directly to Roland guitar synths and modeling equipment. EMagic is releasing a version of their ES1 synthesizer plug-in for TDM systems. It runs on one DSP chip of a Pro Tools 24 Mix Core/Farm card or a PCI DSP Farm card. With one chip the ES1 TDM generates eight voices with a single patch, two different patches with four voices each, or eight different monophonic patches.
Yamaha is releasing a software upgrade for their AW4416. The new 1.1 version is not downloadable and must be loaded into the AW via CD ROM. The new version improves many operational aspects of the unit, and fixes a few ‘anomalies’ (a.k.a. bugs). They are sending CD ROMS free of charge to all registered AW4416 owners. To receive the free upgrade, owners must register their AW either by sending in the Customer Card that came with their AW, or by registering on line at Yamaha’s site.
