To celebrate this year’s 100th anniversary of the first Trans-Atlantic wireless transmission (accomplished December 12, 1901), we’ve got a product that illustrates just how far the technology has progressed: the Audio-Technica ATW-7373 Handheld Wireless Condenser Microphone System. This handheld microphone/transmitter features balanced and unbalanced audio output jacks, and the same condenser element used in the legendary AT4033 studio microphone. Stop worrying about interference – 100 PLL-synthesized channels selectable via switches on receiver and transmitter give you enough options to get the signal clear every time, even with multiple units in use. True Diversity operation selects the better signal from two independent receiver sections, reducing dropouts, and interference-resistant UHF band operation and InvisibleLink® circuitry ensure optimum sound quality. Also helpful are the ground-lift switch and adjustable squelch control, and the fact that two receivers can be mounted side-by-side in a single 19″ rack space. Give us a call (even on one of those telephones with wires), talk to your Sales Engineer, and perform free of entanglements. Don’t try to go Trans-Atlantic, however, although these systems do have a phenomenal 300 foot range.
We get hundreds of questions every week from Mac users with all sorts of odd problems. Obviously our Tech Support department rigorously digs in with our customers to solve any issues, but for the rest of you there are a number of great websites that can help. One I’d like to call attention to today as exceptional is the MacFixIt site. In addition to lots of great troubleshooting tips they do a great job of staying on top of upgrades and incompatibilities.
Sweetwater has lowered the price of Roland’s VSR-880HD by hundreds of dollars. Amazingly you can now get this stand alone 8-track hard disk recorder for a mere $799. Add one of the Roland digital mixers and you have an extremely powerful and stable system for less money than most computer-based DAW’s.
