Sennheiser will be showing a new pre-polarized condenser boundary mic with a half-cardioid pick-up pattern at Winter NAMM. The e 912 is designed to excell at recording and reproducing acoustic instruments – in particular, grand pianos. This companion to the e 901 bass drum mic is also perfect for picking up speech or vocals. Its extremely flat, robust housing makes it surprisingly inconspicuous. The preamplifier electronics are integrated into the 12-ounce mic, which can reportedly handle SPLs to 136dB. Sennheiser will also introduce a new, more powerful line of 3000 Series wireless monitor transmitters and receivers at the Show. The SR3254-U single-channel transmitter, SR3256-U dual-channel transmitter and EK3253-U body-pack receiver are all compatible with Sennheiser’s Evolution series wireless G2 monitor products.
