Native Instruments has announced that its flagship sampler, Kontakt, has gotten an update with version 2.1 now available as a free download to all registered Kontakt 2 users. This newest version includes numerous improvements in compatibility, stability, operation, performance, and sound quality, along with several new features. Additionally, NI now offers a free, comprehensive Sample Library Catalog in PDF form for download, where you can find more than 150 compatible libraries.
Performance Enhancements include:
- Shorter loading times, especially when using several banks with many instruments.
- The CPU load has been dramatically reduced in idle mode, especially when using several banks with many instruments.
- Better multi-processor support with better load balancing for group voices and insert effects and additional load balancing for instrument insert and send effects when using several instruments.
