It could be that eventually all our gear will be wireless. No more tangled cables and no more groping in the back of your computer trying to find the USB port. Continuing on that path, Apple has introduced the wireless Mighty Mouse, which is essentially the company’s slick multi-button mouse, but with the added benefit of being cable-free. According to Apple, the Mighty Mouse incorporates a brand new laser tracking engine that’s a whopping 20 times more sensitive than standard optical mice, yet it’s priced at just $69! The Mighty Mouse is Bluetooth 2.0-based and has four independently programmable buttons and even a built-in scroll ball, yet it’s still the same comfortable design Mac users have known and loved for years. It runs on one or two AA batteries (we recommend rechargeable NiMHs) and best of all, it’s ready to use right out of the box. It does, however, require Apple’s OS X “Tiger” version 10.4.6 or later if you want to customize the buttons.
