The Mesa/Boogie TA-15 TransAtlantic was one of the biggest hits in the guitar amp world in 2010. This compact “lunchbox”-style amp wowed players with two channels that provided five distinct tone styles: Vox-style “Normal” and “Top Boost,” Tweed, British Hi 1, and Boogie Hi 2. There were also three power settings: 25-watt Class AB, and 15-watt and 5-watt Class A. It’s an incredibly versatile amplifier that can deliver exactly the volume level many players need for a variety of gig and rehearsal situations.
But there were requests; an effects loop, reverb, more power, combo…
Now Mesa has delivered! The just-announced TA-30 Transatlantic closely resembles its smaller, elder brother, but ups the power to 40 watts Class AB, switchable down to 30 or 15 watts in Class A. Other new features include:
- A channel-assignable fully buffered effects loop that can be true bypassed.
- A built-in all-tube, long-spring reverb, which can be assigned and controlled per channel and true bypassed.
- Fan cooling
- Four EL-84 power tubes
- Six 12AX7 preamp tubes
- Two-button footswitch
The new TA-30 will be available in four formats:
- Head with padded gig bag and shoulder strap
- Rackmount head
- 1×12″ combo with casters and slip cover
- 2×12″ combo with casters and slip cover
