Short for Open Track List, which is a specific type of Edit Decision List format developed by Time Line to be used in Tascam MM and MX series disk recorders. The protocol is published and can be adopted by any manufacturer who wants a simple way to transfer sessions in and out of the Tascam recorders. The Open TL format recognizes a variety of disk file systems including HFS, HFS+, FAT-32 (and others), and audio file formats such as Broadcast Wave, Sound Designer II, and AIFF so it’s relatively easy for most other systems to achieve compatibility.
