In physics a band is a specific range of wavelengths or frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. In audio this refers to a range of audio frequencies. For example, a 10 “band” graphic equalizer has 10 “bands” of frequencies it can adjust. These bands may be relatively narrow or wide in terms of the range of their individual coverage.
