This is the trade name of vinyl covering manufactured by DuPont and commonly used by Fender as a covering on their guitar amplifiers and various guitar cases. The term is often used generically (and incorrectly) when discussing vinyl coverings in general, much as “Xerox” is used when making a simple copy of a printed page.
