Full Space

Also known as “free field.” Full space means no reflecting surfaces around a sound source. Full space is the only situation where a speaker or sound source can create completely uncolored sound, since as soon as there is a surface for the sound to reflect off of, the response of the speaker or source is changed. The closest thing to full space outside of outer space is an anechoic chamber, though even there, there will be some miniscule amount of reflection from the surrounding surfaces.
