Corksniffer

One who engages in endless debate (often in online discussion forums) and comparison between different products in order to find the “best” item. The term seems to most commonly be applied to guitar players who are on an endless quest for the Holy Grail of tone, often involving a revolving door process of purchasing and quickly reselling boutique amplifiers, pickups, stompboxes, cables, picks, and other gear, all the while debating the merits of minute differences between various models and vintages.
