1. If you’ve gotten used to surfing your Program Menu to get to your applications, you’ll be in for a surprise when you first try this with Windows Vista. See, the new Program Menu only shows you recently used applications and it requires additional clicks to navigate to the submenus. This may be quite frustrating at first, but fortunately, the Search box Microsoft added to the new Vista Start menu is a great replacement – at least as long as you’re an accurate typist. As quickly as you can type, it returns intelligent results in applications, files, and even e-mail messages.
2. When using the Vista Help system, it’s usually a really good idea to include Microsoft’s online database as part of your search. The online/offline status of your search is located on the bottom right of the Help window. You can click on it to toggle it off and on.
