Evans has always been known for bringing innovation and new technological advancements to drummers. It all began with the invention of the first synthetic drumhead in 1956, continued with hydraulic drumheads in the 70s and 80s, the implementation of CAD/CAM designed and manufactured hoops in the late 80s, the use of dry vents on snare and bass drumheads, the ever-so-popular EMAD system, Sound Shaping Technology (SST) Edge Control rings found on the EC2 series, and more recently Level 360 Technology as well as our hugely popular Calftone series.

Raising The Bar

D’Addario Percussion has a constant drive and hunger to push the limits, so they’re raising the bar yet again. By popular demand, Evans recently added a UV1 Line Extension to include an 8” tom head and tom packs in fusion, rock and standard configurations. And to kick off the new year, they created the UV1 Bass Head for kick drums ranging from 16-26”, with offerings in a standard UV1 along with two favorites in UV EQ4 and UV EMAD.

Evans and Promark have united under the D’Addario Percussion banner to bring championship winning tools to marching and drum corps percussionists of all types. With multiple head offerings across the full line of marching drums, Evans has breathed new life into the marching activity.

Red Hydraulic Heads

Evans Hydraulic series drumheads deliver a deep, fat impact, without excess overtones. Constructed of two plies of thin film, Hydraulic heads are known for their ease of tuning, which makes them an ideal choice for problematic drums or novice drummers seeking instant sonic gratification. In addition to a wide variety of tom sizes, Evans Hydraulic Reds are now available for snare, with an added clear UV coating for texture and durability.
