Morph Between Two Distinct Analog Phaser Voices

The Larva Morphing Phaser pedal marks Beetronics FX’s first foray into the world of phase, providing you with two switchable phaser voices to swap and morph between. This 6-stage analog phaser boasts three modes of operation: Phaser, Vibee, and the ability to isolate the pedal’s preamp for pure, punchy saturation. Each half of the Larva features a dedicated set of Rate and Depth controls, allowing you to instantly swap between two unique sounds with a click of a footswitch — you can even morph between the two for wild and textural transitional sounds. To further tweak your tone, the Larva also grants you a powerful Ramp control with three shapes to savor, paired with a bar of LEDs for quick visual indication of the Ramp’s current speed and status. Complete with Beetronics FX’s ever-stylish bee-inspired aesthetics and a top-quality boutique build, the Beetronics FX Larva is a perfect phaser choice for brave tone chasers with an ear for innovation.

Ramp, morph, phase, and vibee

In classic Beetronics FX fashion, the Larva veers off the well-trodden pedal path — this is no typical 2- or 3-knob phaser! First off, the Larva is a dual phaser, giving you two independent phaser sections that can be used independently, swapped between, or even morphed from one phase to the other for rich, textured transitions. Each phaser can be set to one of three modes — Phaser, Vibee, or the Larva’s Preamp — giving you the ability to dial in two dramatically different phase tones and swerve between with the stomp of a switch. What’s more, the Larva gives you three Ramp shapes to explore, and Sweetwater’s stage guitarists love how straightforward it is to dial in and monitor the ramp using the Tap Ramp function and high-visibility bar of status LEDs.

Sweet, sweet saturation

In addition to its panoply of phaser features, the Larva comes equipped with a robust preamp section to elevate your tone with honeyed saturation. Controlled via a dedicated Preamp knob, this section can be either combined with the Larva’s selection of Phaser voices or used independently as a hard-hitting boost. Finally, the Larva’s bypass LED also doubles as a handy meter to monitor the pedal’s level of preamp distortion.

Beetronics FX Larva Features:

  • 6-stage analog phaser pedal, loaded with 2 switchable phaser sections
  • 3 modes to explore: Phaser, Vibee, and an isolated Preamp mode
  • Swap between your 2 dialed-in phaser sounds with the stomp of a footswitch, or morph between them for wild transitional tones
  • 3-position Ramp Shape control, equipped with an LED bar to monitor its status and a Tap Ramp function to tweak the Ramp’s performance
  • Preamp control features a dedicated LED to monitor your current level of heat
  • Premium boutique build quality to last the long haul

Reviews

Sweet!
I just got my second Larva Phaser. I loved my first one in the regular color, but when I saw the black Sweetwater exclusive, I had to have it, too. (And the black one led to a total pedal board redo--all to the betterment of said board.)
I'm probably not exploring all it is capable of, but the Larva Phaser is a great sounding phaser if you like phaser--and I do. It can be subtle but it can do deep ocean seasick warble, too. So I just use it as a easy way to switch settings: one side is light and pretty and versatile--and the other is deep, weird, and funky. And in addition to that the preamp sounds great and can add plenty of oomph and grit. And overall, this pedal works well with other effects. The Res knob gives you a lot of control over phaser's harsher, more artificial sounds--but ironically, I find myself turning it up because I miss those harsh, artificial sounds when they are not there.

The Vibrato mode is also very nice, and if I could change one thing, it would be the ability to set one side to vibrato and one side to phaser. That would be stunning.
Music background: distortion hides a lot of sins
