V4 The Sheriff provides you with two modes of operation. Standalone mode functions like a typical overdrive stompbox, goosing the front end of your amplifier with tube-inflected goodness. Amp Through Mode, on the other hand, offers full integration with your existing amplifier. And it's easier to wire up than you might think. Simply plug the V4 into your amp's effects loop. Switch the pedal on, and you'll bypass your preamp section, piping the V4's classic British tube tone straight into your amplifier's power section. Switch the pedal off, and your preamp section will be re-engaged, enabling your amp to behave as normal. Deploying your other effects is easy — just treat the V4 like the front end of an amp. For example, run drives and compressors into the V4, and time-based effects between the V4 and your amp's effect return.
