Color Your World with Juicy Harmonics
TK Audio’s Transformer revolutionizes your mix with multi-stage harmonic processing. The TX Drive stage enhances your low end with ear-grabbing transformer saturation. Following this, a passive saturation stage infuses your signal with odd or selectable even harmonics. Next, an active germanium stage imparts a vintage-tinged character. Finally, with a high-frequency boost, you can add Class A transformer-coupled silkiness to your signal. The Transformer features a Blend knob, allowing you to mix the processed signal with your dry signal to taste. Additionally, the M-S function lets you independently process your mid and side channels. Its illuminated switches are easy to locate in a darkened studio, and the detented potentiometers ensure precise recall should you need to revisit a production down the line. Engineers hunting for an analog-driven color box to add punch and warmth to their digital mixes will be amazed by the Transformer’s capabilities.

Four stages of signal-invigorating saturation
The Transformer’s harmonic-fueled magic is divided into four stages. First, a transformer-driven circuit (TX Drive) injects your signal with subtle low-frequency harmonics and a 2dB bump at 30Hz to enhance your low end. Next, a passive saturation circuit (Sat) is chock-full of odd harmonics by default, with an Even switch to bring even harmonics into the mix. Following this, an active germanium stage (Ge) imparts a sweet-sounding vintage flavor with a subdued high end. Finally, a transformer-coupled Class A stage (HF) delivers a fat, punchy sound with muscular mids and silky highs reminiscent of a ’70s-era British console.

Plenty of sound-shaping features
Here at Sweetwater, we’re quite enamored with the TK Audio Transformer. Its multi-stage design offers incredible flexibility, and when you factor in its wide-ranging controls, you’ll find there’s little in the harmonic-generation arena that it can’t do. The TX Drive knob controls your input and output signal simultaneously, allowing you to dial in your preferred amount of transformer saturation without disrupting your gain staging. The Gain knob lets you achieve anything from subtle coloration to full-blown clipping, which you can offset with the Output Trim knob. With the Blend knob, you can mix the TX Drive, passive saturation, and germanium-stage signals with your dry signal in myriad ways. Finally, you can choose to process your mid and side channels separately by activating the M-S function.
