The 676 rocks a high-gain, Class A tube mic preamplifier section based around a 12AU7 vacuum tube that you can tweak for your desired degree of harmonic character, from pristine clean to delightfully dirty.

Featuring both soft- and hard-knee compression, proprietary AutoVelocity manual and OverEasy modes, and a PeakStop limiting algorithm - plus threshold, attack, gain and release, and auto attack and release controls, the compressor/limiter gives you amazingly flexible control over your dynamics. The 676's 3-band parametric EQ lets you adjust boost/cut and bandwidth at frequencies that were selected for maximum musicality.
Pro features, easy to useThe dbx 676 gives you professional connectivity, with 1/4-inch and XLR inputs and outputs, a front-panel instrument input, and a side-chain insert. The 676 lets you precisely tailor your input and output levels - which you can keep tabs on via a large, old-school multi-function VU meter. A front-panel tri-color indicator lets you know the status of the 676's optional digital output card. Although extensive in its capabilities, the dbx 676's vintage-style controls and VU metering make it delightfully quick and ease to use.
