I am working with Logic Audio on a PowerMac 8500. The audio files are being played back from the internal HD. Why do MIDI timing problems appear?

Accessing the internal HD has the highest priority on a Power Mac 8500. This means that any other operation is stopped or interrupted when the System is accessed. The solution is to playback audio files from a hard drive that is connected to the 2nd SCSI bus. A fast, dedicated hard drive for audio files is a general recommendation.
