What do I need to synchronize my DR8/DR16 with an ADAT?
A: There are many ways to sync with an Adat, all of which will require some optional accessories for the DR8/DR16. First, if you don’t have the Adat BRC remote you may need to strip a track on the Adat with SMPTE time code. You can then route the output of this track to the input of the optional IB802T SMPTE interface.
Another method requires either the Alesis BRC or the AI-2 to chase-lock to the DR8/DR16 using either SMPTE or MIDI Time Code (MTC).
