What are the main differences between Digitranslator 1.0 and Digitranslator 2.0?
The largest difference is that all the functionality of DigiTranslator 1.0 is now built directly into the Pro Tools application, so there is no need to launch a separate application for OMF import or export. In addition, DigiTranslator 2.0:
– Can export OMF versions of Pro Tools 5.1.x session files (Previously only 5.0.1 files and lower) Imports and exports 24-bit OMF files (previously only 16-bit file supported)
– Exports Broadcast WAV (BWF) files as well as AIFF and Sound Designer II (Previously only AIFF or SDII). Both versions of DigiTranslator can convert standard WAV files to either AIFF or SDII.
– Can translate Avid keyframe automation into Pro Tools breakpoint automation playlists (previously only clip-based gain could be translated)
– Can play back an OMF sequence with embedded media without first having to extract the media files (saves time)
– Creates sample-accurate sequences for export to systems that perform only frame-accurate editing.
– Can check files and sequences directly into Unity MediaManager
