How can I update the software for my Akai MPC4000

Download the OS update at http://www.akaipro.com/us/osdload.html,
unzip, burn the .bin file to a CD, press “load” on
the MPC4000, turn the silver jog wheel to bring up the disk list, select the
CD/RW, use F3 (eject) to open the tray and place the CD in the tray and
close.
Highlight the .bin file and press F6 (do it). The machine will walk the user
through the rest of the update process.

You may also use the “OS Loader”:
Download the OS loader, USB drivers, and the update…unzip all.
Connect the MPC4000 via USB and install the USB drivers to your computer as
you would a printer, scanner,…etc.
Double click the OS loader and use the file finder (opens with OS loader)
window to locate the OS file, hightlight it, and click open.
The program will run and and upon completion will instruct the user to
“restart” the MPC4000.
Use the intialize feature (GLOBAL then F6) after the restart.
