Unity sampling basics : Creating custom programs in Unity DS-1, importing and recording samples, setting up samples to play n programs.
Some basic tips for creating a sound in Unity DS-1:
1. Record or import a sample.
A. To Import a sample go to the Samples Page and choose Import Sample… from the File menu. Unity supports AIFF, WAV, SoundDesigner II, Unity and Akai formats.
B. To record a sample press the Record button below the samples list.
2. Create a Multisample by clicking on the Add button below the multisaples list on the Multisamples page.
3. Highlight the new Multisample by clicking on it.
4. Add a Sample to the Multisample by clicking the Add button below the Multisaple Keyboard.
5. Assign the sample to the correct key and velocity ranges by dragging the edges of the sample or by adjusting Zone Low, Zone.
6. Go to the Program-Main page and assign the Multisample to an oscillator. Make sure that the Oscillator is turned on (the Speaker should be yellow).
7. You should now be able to hear your sample by playing the editor keyboard or a MIDI controller attached to your system.
