Can I use my Tascam FW1884 as a control surface in Cakewalk Sonar? If so, how?
Yes, with a download from Tascam if you’re using Sonar 2.2. Go to http://www.tascam.com and go to Products, click on the 1884 and go to Downloads. Then, download the Control Surface for Sonar 2.2.
Run this file and it will install a template into Sonar. Launch Sonar, and the surface will show up in Options – Control Surfaces. Remember to set the proper I/O for the control surface to be the MIDI port FW-1884 Control.
