Q. What is a Scene and how many are there?
A. A scene is group of mixer settings that can be stored. This allows you to compare different mixes and recall them with a touch of a button. The VM-3100 will allow you to store up to 32 scenes.

Q. How do I Store a Scene?
1. Adjust the faders and effect settings you would like to store.
2. Press an unlit [SCENE] button. The button will light, indicating the mix is stored to that scene.
3. To recall a scene, press the [SCENE] button it was stored to.

Q. How do I Select a different Scene Bank?
1. Press and hold down the [BANK] button.
2. Press the [SCENE 3] button to increase the bank number by one.
3. Press the [SCENE 4] button to decrease the bank number by one.

Q. How do I Clear a Scene that is in memory?
1. Press and hold down the [SHIFT] button.
2. Press the [SCENE] button you would like to clear. The buttons light will shut off.

Q. What is EZ Routing and how many Settings can I Store?
A. EZ Routing allows you to store settings related to mixer connections such as, settings for routing inputs to channels, determining where signals are output, determining which output is to be monitored, and routing effects. This allows you to easily recall the settings you use often instead of rerouting the setting each time you need them. Your VM-3100 comes with 16 preset routings from the factory . In addition to these, the VM-3100 allows you to store 16 of your own settings.

Q. How do I Select a Routing?
1. Press the [EZ ROUTING] button.
2. Rotate the [VALUE] dial to select the routing you would like to use.
3. Press the [ENTER / YES] button.

Q. How do I Adjust a Channel’s Pan Position?
1. Press the [PAN] button.
2. Press the [SELECT] button for the channel you would like to adjust.
3. Rotate the [VALUE] knobs or use the [VALUE] dial to select the desired pan position.

Q. How do I Select an Effect for a Channel?
1. Press the [EFFECTS 1] button.
2. Press the [PATCH SELECT] button to select the type of effect you would like to use.
3. Rotate the [VALUE] dial to select the desired effect patch.
4. Adjust the [EFFECTS LEVEL] knob to raise the effect output level.
5. Press the [AUX SEND] button.
6. Rotate the [VALUE] knobs to adjust the effects level.
7. Press the [LEVEL METER] button to return to the Level Meter screen.

Q. How do I apply Compression to a Channel?
1. Press and hold down the [SHIFT] button.
2. Press the [COMP 1] or [COMP 2] button.
3. Rotate the [VALUE] dial to select the channel you would like the compressor to be applied.

Q. How do I use the Equalizer?
1. Turn one of the [EQ] knobs to call up the Equalizer screen.
2. Press the [SELECT] button for the channel you would like to adjust.
3. Use the up / down and left / right [ARROW] buttons to select the frequencies to be adjusted.
4. Use the [EQ] knobs to adjust the frequencies.

Q. How do I Copy an EQ Setting to another Channel?
1. Turn one of the [EQ] knobs to call up the Equalizer screen.
2. Press the [F1-F4 ON / OFF] button.
3. Press the [F3] (COPY) button.
4. Press the left [ARROW] button to select “Source”.
5. Rotate the [VALUE] dial to select the source channel you would like to copy from.
6. Press the right [ARROW] button to select “To”.
7. Rotate the [VALUE] dial to select the destination channel you would like to copy to.
8. Press the [ENTER / YES] button twice.

Q. How do I Adjust the Display’s Contrast.
1. Press and hold down the [SHIFT] button.
2. Press the [SYSTEM] button.
3. Rotate the [VALUE] dial to adjust the displays contrast.
4. Press the [LEVEL METER] button to return to the Level Meter screen.

Q. How do I Turn On the Phantom Power?
1. Press the [SYSTEM] button.
2. Press the down [ARROW] button to select “Phantom”.
3. Rotate the [VALUE] dial to select on.

Q. How do Reset the VM-3100 to its Factory Preset settings?
1. Press the [SYSTEM] button.
2. Press the [F1-F4 ON / OFF] button.
3. Press the [F4] (INIT) button.
4. Use the up / down and left / right [ARROW] buttons to select the items you wish to initialize.
5. Rotate the [VALUE] dial to place a check by the items you wish to initialize.
6. Press the [ENTER / YES] button twice.
