Proper setting of the Yamaha O2R clock with Adats.
The Yamaha mixer has its own DIGITAL CLOCK page. To avoid clicks in the audio, this clock must be set to the ADAT Optical input before operation. In most cases, setting the clock to the Optical inputs is all you need to do. However, some alternatives are available.
Even though each ADAT interface card appears as a separate clock source, in fact, you can choose any of the cards as the clock master, as long as all ADATS are connected with ADAT Sync cables. All the clocks of an ADAT system will be synchronized by the 9-pin sample clock. If the ADATS are independent (without Sync cables), there will be clicks in the audio of any machine not selected as the clock. All digital audio must be synchronized in a digital mixing system.
