Pro Tools AAE Error -1179
“AAE 1179: Some DSP cards in the system are getting too hot for safe operation. Please increase airflow, reduce environment temperature, or power down the system so that the cards can cool down.”
If you receive this error message, then your HDX cards are operating at temperatures above their intended threshold. Ensure that the fans on the HDX cards are functional, and that the airflow in the computer or chassis in which they are installed is not compromised (check for excessive dust in exhaust ports or nonfunctional fans).
If your computer or chassis is installed in a quiet rack or isolation studio furniture, ensure that the operating temperature inside is less than 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
If you have HDX installed in a Magma EB3T, ensure the fan is operational, set to run at the fastest speed, and that the Avid approved fan is installed. See the following Knowledge Base articles for reference:
