I opened my G4 and I noticed some dust has accumulated on my SCSI card inside. What should I do?
Some dust in the computer is ok, but if it is totally coverd , you may want to clean it off.Go to any computer store / hardware store and pick up a can of compressed air.(unless you have a compressor allready) With the computer shut OFF ,hold the nozzle about 6 inches away from any surface and blow the dust off.If you are using a compressor , make sure its flow is reduced so its not to strong. You can also use a “Tech Vaccum” which is a small hand held vaccum with a brush designed to clean electronics.Be CAREFULL with this one, you dont want to rub the circut boards to hard!! You could destroy the board traces. The compressed air should do the job just fine.Just make sure you are in a open area that you dont mind getting dirty!!!
