My Alesis Kick Drum Is Rattling
Alesis kick drums with mesh heads will tend to rattle. This is not a factory defect. There is a gap between the mesh head on the kick and the trigger, and much like an acoustic kick drum, when it’s struck will make a little noise.
If you find that the rattling noise is too much for you, you can compensate by tightening the head using a drum key. It will bring it closer to the trigger by tightening the head, thus reducing (or even eliminating) the rattling noise. Don’t tighten it too much, though, as you may tear the head!
