More Issues Concerning Digital Audio Card Support

Two reader messages clarifying earlier inSync items:From inSync reader Frank V. concerning the November 10 TTOTD: “Regarding the following:’….multiple output support will be available for Logic Audio/Event cards around the first of the year.’Will multiple output support be provided by Logic or Event (or both) — software update, new version, new driver, hardware fix, work-around? Are they working together? A clarification would be greatly appreciated.” Thanks for your message, Frank! Event’s cards and software already support multiple WAV drivers, allowing for multiple outputs. The support discussed above will be an update to Logic Audio by Emagic.Reader Chad M. asks if TransferStation (inSync 11/11/97) is compatible with Macs with dual (internal and external) SCSI busses. Thanks for the question, Chad! According to TransferStation specs, the program can read data from either the internal or external bus, provided there is no duplication of SCSI IDs between the two busses. An important caveat though: TransferStation is unable to “bridge” data from one bus to the other. In other words, it can’t enable the transfer of data from a CD-ROM on the internal bus to a sampler on the external bus.
