McDSP Software Activation Instructions

In this guide, we will show you how to activate, download, and install your new McDSP plug-ins. Follow the sections below to get started.

Create an iLok account

McDSP software is licensed with iLok. That means in order to use it, you will need to connect its iLok license to the iLok Cloud or to an iLok USB stick. If you don’t already have an iLok account, you’ll need to create one and install the iLok License Manager app. Follow the steps below to get started. If you already have an account, skip these steps and continue to download the software. Learn more about iLok licensing in our iLok Quickstart Guide.

1. Visit iLok’s registration page and complete the registration form. Take note of your User ID and password.
2. Open the iLok Account Activation email and click on the verification link.
3. Download and install the iLok License Manager.
4. Launch the iLok License Manager app and sign in to your account.
   • (optional) Connect an iLok and when prompted, click Yes to register it to your account.

Download & install the software

Once you’ve created an iLok account, the next step in the process is to download the plug-in(s). Go to the McDSP website, select the plug-in installer for your OS. Once the software has been downloaded, it will need to be installed. Follow these steps to install your product.

1. Go to the McDSP download page, and select the plug-in installer for your OS.
2. Open your Downloads folder and run the installer.
   • PC: Right-click the plug-in .zip file, select Extract all…, and then click Extract. Double-click the new plug-in .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.
   • Mac: Double-click the plug-in .zip file, then double-click the plug-in .pkg file and follow the on-screen instructions.

Activate plug-in with iLok

The final step in the activation process is to register and activate it to your iLok account. You will need to enter the activation code you received from your Sweetwater Sales Engineer then transfer it to a connected iLok USB dongle or to the iLok Cloud. Follow these steps to activate the plug-in.

iLok USB stick

1. Connect the iLok USB dongle to your computer and sign in to iLok License Manager.
2. Click the “..I” button next to the search bar to view the activation prompt. Alternatively, click Licenses then click Redeem Activation Code.
3. Enter the activation code sent to you from your Sweetwater Sales Engineer, then click Next.
4. Click the Available tab, and then drag and drop the license into the iLok icon.

iLok Cloud (internet access required)

1. Launch the iLok License Manager and sign in.
2. Click the File menu and select Open Cloud Session. A new iLok Cloud Session will start with all available cloud-enabled licenses.
