MAC: EMI 2|6 Firmware Loader for Mac OS X available
Product: EMI2/6
EMI 2|6 Firmware Loader
Requires Mac OS 10.1 or higher.
The EMI 2|6 Firmware Loader, as the name indicates, automatically loads the EMI 2|6 Firmware into the EMI 2|6 during startup of your computer. The firmware will be kept in the EMI 2|6 as long as it is connected and powered.
Once the firmware is loaded, the EMI 2|6 is available under Mac OS X using Mac OS X’s built-in USB Audio Driver. Open the control panel “System Preferences > Sound” to choose the EMI 2|6 as the main system output. All signals, e.g. from iTunes, will then be played back via Channel 1 and 2 of the EMI 2|6.
Furthermore, all audio applications that support the Mac OS X Core Audio architecture will be able to make use of the features of the EMI 2|6: 6 Output Channels, 24bit, all available sample rates and channel assignments. The actual settings depend on the capabilities of the host application.
If you encounter problems with the loader you may contact us as always via “support@emagic.de”.
We are collecting feedback on the behaviour of the EMI 2|6 with Mac OS X Third Party software. Please use the following e-mail address “emi26_macosx@emagic.de” when submitting such feedback.
Furthermore we are interested in receiving information regarding compatibility with Third Party Software and also welcome positive feedback; i.e. when an application runs fine with EMI 2|6.
Please note: The standard USB Audio driver is provided by the Mac OS X Core Audio architecture, not by Emagic. The included file is only the firmware loader. If you encounter a problem with a certain application please contact the vendor of this application for information on compatibility of this application with the Mac OS X Audio Core Audio architecture first.
Please also note the following regarding mails to the feedback e-mail address “emi26_macosx@emagic.de”:
– Please do not expect an immediate answer using this e-mail address. We will collect and study every mail for further research and development. If you require an answer due to a specific problem, please write to “support@emagic.de”.
– Please give as much information about the software and the system as possible, i.e. exact application version, exact Mac OS X version number (found under “About This Mac” in the Apple menu) and further information about the setup that might be of interest.
