Kurzweil K2500 v2.5.2 Update Compatibilities
Question from an inSync reader regarding the recent Kurzweil K2500 operating system upgrade: “Will the ROM object upgrade change any of the ROM program numbers that I already have references to in my MIDI sequence files? Hopefully when I do a “Get ROM objects” from my Galaxy program, it’s not going to remap any of the current ROM program numbers.” According to Sweetwater’s Chief Soundware Engineer Daniel Fisher, the new version (2.5.2) – the ROM objects you currently have will remain the same. There will be ten new programs (#760-769), three effects (#706-708) and one quick access bank (#700) add in support of the new KB3 organ mode. Other improvements in the new version include faster SCSI operations, faster sample memory deletion/compaction, faster object memory save, five multi-velocity keymaps, and a new control setup (#97, for KB3).
