“Will the K2500RS Read Akai and Kawai Formats?”
inSync reader Tom S. saw our item last week mentioning that Akai and Kawai were posting downloadable sounds to their respective websites. He asks, “Will the K2500RS read these formats?”Thanks for your message, Tom!In the case of Akai: Assuming they are regular S-Series files, the Kurzweil should be compatible with Akai format samples, although you may not get all of the program parameters exactly transferred across. If for some reason you do have difficulties getting these to load, you could also use Akai’s “MPC3000” utility to convert these to AIFF files the Kurzweil can read.Kawai K5000 sounds are not compatible with Kurzweil’s instruments, sorry!
