I installed the ProTools software and plugged the Digi002 into the Firewire port of my new G4 Mac. When I launch ProTools I get a message that says “Please connect your Digidesign hardware…” It is connected , whats wrong?
Make sure you have booted the new G4 into OS9 NOT OSX. If you try to launch ProTools 5.3.2 in OSX it launches “Classic OS9” that is NOT compatible with ProTools.
Boot the Mac into the real OS9 by going to “Startup Disk” in System Preferences in OSX.
Now see chapter 2 in the “Getting started with Digi002” Manual for instructions on how to set up OS9 for the Digi002.
