How do I install the JL Cooper CS-32 into Cakewalk Sonar?
First, you’ll need Sonar version 2.2 (if you have 2.0 or 2.1, it is available free at the Cakewalk website, http://www.cakewalk.com). You will also need the Cakewalk Plugin Manager, also free at their website.
In Sonar 2.2, go to Tools – Sonar Plug-in Manager 1.0. Select Control Surfaces under Filter Categories. Under Registered Filters (on the right) select Cakewalk Generic Surface, choose Import, and point it to the downloaded (and unzipped) file JL Cooper CS-32.spp. Click Close.
Then, back in Sonar, go to Options – Control Surfaces and add Cakewalk Generic Surface. Be sure to specify the correct MIDI ports. If you are using the USB version, select JLCooper CS-32 as the MIDI input and output. If you are using the MIDI version, choose the port name where it is plugged into.
Go to Tools – Cakewalk Generic Surface, and under Presets, choose JL Cooper CS-32. Click the X button to close, and that’s it!
