How do I import my patchlist for my devices since there is no FREEMIDI or OMS?

1st, a little history….

Since the introduction of OSX, the functionality of how MIDI devices would interact with the sequencing programs has been in question because of the exclusion of FREEMIDI and OMS.
The CORE midi Architecture is setup to where every program feeds from the same bin of devices. These are kept in the stable of the AUDIO/MIDI setup within the Utilities menu.
Over the past few months the big 4 sequencers (Logic, Protools, Digital Performer, and CubaseSX) have made their plunge into the OSX arena. But out of these 4 only 2 of these manfactuers actually translated some of their former patchlist setups into OSX. Digital performer and Protools.

MOTU promised that when they reached OSX status that they would take their highly used FREEMIDI devices and translate them into an OSX usuable format and they have did just that with the install of DP4.
Now DIGIDESIGN also installed a set of devices but the list is much shorter…So What we have done is compile a list together of both of these device list into 1 general OSX device listing, in which you can speak with your Sweetwater Salesman about….

NOW the “How to”

1) open your Mac hard drive
2) go to the LIBRARY > AUDIO > MIDI devices folder
3) copy your list of devices into this folder
4) go to the APPLICATIONS > UTILITIES >AUDIO/MIDIsetup and double click
5) click the tab of MIDI devices
6) Once it is done scanning for your current midi interface you should see a picture of your device..
7) on the tool bar, choose ADD DEVICE
8) it will add a generic Device… double click that device
9) this will bring you a set of parameters, (Manfactuer and model – just like OMS and FREEMIDI used to)
10) click an hold on the arrow next to Manfactuer and if you have done the above procedures correctly, there will be a list of vendors you can choose from
11) now click and hold on the arrow next to Model and do the same..
12) once this is done, your Midi device should now show up in the midi setup and your patchlist should be with it..

Now accessing your patchlist and such will happen within your corresponding software sequencer…
