I’m getting an “error loading the controller personality” message when I launch Pro Tools with my 003 console.

If Pro Tools gives you a messages saying “error loading the controller personality” when you try to launch it while using your 003 console, follow the steps below to return your system to proper order.

1. Make sure you quit Pro Tools and disconnect the 003 from your computer.
2. Find the 003.bundle file and delete it. On a Mac, you can find it in Applications > Avid > Pro Tools > Controllers. On Windows, you can find the file in Program Files > Avid > Pro Tools > Controllers on the C: drive (if you have Pro Tools 9 or below, the Avid folder will be called Digidesign).
3. Next, reinstall Pro Tools. You don’t need to uninstall it first.
4. Once Pro Tools is reinstalled, you should be good to go.
