I have a HP laptop and Pro Tools does not seem to run on it, is there something that I need to change on my laptop?
Yes. Digidesign recommends that HP laptops have the following settings adjusted on them in order to run Pro Tools correctly.
-In the Device Manager adjust the USB Root Hub by Disabling “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” and
Set Fire-Wire Drive Policy to “Optimize for Quick Removal.” for any fire-wire hard drives.
-In Windows control Panel under Power Options set to “Always On”
-Disable WiFi
-Disable Bluetooth
