How to update Musebox software
MuseBox is a dynamic platform, which is to say it has system software that can be updated from time to time. We recommend you check for system software udpates as soon as you receive your MuseBox to make sure you have the latest and greatest software for the unit. You can quickly and easily update the software one of three ways:
1. Connect a mouse, monitor, and keyboard to the unit, and then connect MuseBox to an ethernet connection that allows access to the Internet. Select the SETUP tab from the top menu bar, and then click on “Check for Software Updates”. Note that you must be connected to the Internet for this to work.
2. Connect your MuseBox to your home computer via an Ethernet network cable. Be sure the network you connect to also has access to the internet. Use the MUSE TOOLS software (supplied with your unit) to view the user interface of your MuseBox by launching MUSE TOOLS and clicking on “Viewer”. Once you see the user interface of your MuseBox come on the screen, follow the instructions in item #1 to update the software.
3. Connect your MuseBox to the Internet using an Ethernet cable, then press the SETUP button, and then turn the top knob until you see “Support Tools” Press the to bottom button to enter Support Tools mode. Verify that you have a valid ethernet connection (which will be indicated by turning the bottom knob to the Network Status menu item. Now turn the top knob to the last menu item, which is Support Tools Expert. Turn the bottom knob until it says “Check for Updates”. Press the bottom knob and the system will download and install any updates that are relevant to the system.
